Italian Ceramics Technology Award 2014: the winners visit Italy

The three Mexican students who were proclaimed the winners of the Italian Ceramics Technology Award will be visiting Italy until 6 July. The award initiative, which was organised by the ICE-Agenzia in collaboration with Acimac, offered a trip to Italy to those who submitted the best research theses on technological innovations applied to ceramic manufacturing.

During their time in Italy, the students and their colleagues from different countries who were the winners of other competitions relative to the same industry (plastic, textile and packaging machinery) will attend a transversal training course based on the theme "The Italian way of doing business". The in-depth course will teach them about the uniqueness of Italian competitiveness and the business cluster model, and is scheduled to be held at the LIUC (Libera Università Cattaneo di Castellanza).

At the end of the course, the winning students will also visit leading companies in various segments of the respective sectors involved.

Similarly to the previous editions, the objective of the initiative is to raise the awareness of engineering students from important foreign universities about Italian technologies. The idea is to encourage those soon destined to fill managerial roles, specifically in Mexican ceramic companies, to gain first-hand knowledge of the excellent technologies produced by the Italian market.

And this is why, at the end of the course, the three students from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León will go to the Modena area to visit leading companies in various sectors of the ceramics technology sector: Indeed, LB Officine Meccaniche, CAMI, SITI B&T Group, Ancora, System and Sacmi, will all host the delegation at their respective factories.

During their stay, members of the delegation will also visit the Ferrari Museum in Maranello and the Museum of Industrial Heritage in Bologna.
