Italian ceramic technology ready for Batimat Russia

The Italian ceramic technology industry is preparing for its annual appointment with Batimat Russia, the largest building and interior exhibition for the Russian and Eastern European markets.

Due to be held from 3 to 6 April 2018 in the ultra-modern Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre in Moscow, it will showcase a comprehensive range of innovative and designer materials from top ceramic tile and sanitaryware producers and is expected to be attended by more than 90,000 industry professionals, including designers, architects and producers.

The Technoceramica section devoted to machinery and raw materials for the ceramic industry will be held this year in Pavilion 3 Hall 14. Italian companies will make up the largest group of participants, mostly as part as a collective organised by Acimac. A total of 18 of the sector’s top companies will be hosted in a floor space of around 500 square metres: Air Power, BMR, Cami, CMF, Gape Due, ICF & Welko, LB, Lema, Martinelli, Mectiles, Sacmi, SITI B&T Group, Surfaces Technological Abrasives, Tecnodiamant and Tecnoferrari. They will be joined by glaze and colour producers such as Colorobbia, Esmalglass and Lamberti, while a number of companies will be exhibiting with their own stands, including Inco, Smaltochimica, System and Torrecid.

Visitors to the Acimac stand will be able to pick up a free copy of the Russian edition of the international magazine Ceramic World Review, which provides special coverage of the Russian market and the latest ceramic production technologies.

Eastern Europe imported 10.3% of total Italian ceramic machinery exports in 2016, corresponding to a value of 158.9 million euros (up 3.9% with respect to the previous year). The majority of this was sold in the Russian market.

Russia is the world’s thirteenth largest tile producer with an output of 163.8 million square metres in 2017 according to initial estimates, 1.6% up on 2016.
