Ceramic machinery industry at Indian Ceramics
Over twenty Italian companies will be present at the Indian trade fair scheduled from 26 to 28 February in Ahmedabad (Gujarat)
The Italian ceramic machinery industry will be present at Indian Ceramics 2014, scheduled from 26 to 28 February in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, at the Gujarat University Exhibition Centre.
An excellent showcase for the latest technological innovations, Indian Ceramics 2014 has a significant presence of Italian technology, with companies such as Sacmi, SITI B&T, System, LB Officine Meccaniche, Smac, Air Power, Setec, Tecnoferrari, Mectiles, Cielle and Tecnopress in the ceramic machinery sector, Bernini, Bongioanni, Capaccioli, Icra and Tecnofiliere in the brick and refractory systems sector and Poligraph, Stylgraph and Tecnografica among the graphics firms, in addition to Smalticeram, Smaltochimica and Lamberti for glazes and additives. Overall, Italian companies will occupy an area of approx. 800 square metres, of which approx. half by the collective exhibition organized by ACIMAC (Italian Ceramic Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers' Association).
The largest Indian trade fair for suppliers of the tile, sanitaryware and brick industry – supported by the Indian Government in collaboration with the most important trade associations and organised by MMI India (subsidiary of Messe München International) – aims to exceed the results of the 2013 Edition, which had over 5,000 visitors.
India represents one of the main target markets for ceramics technologies. In 2012 the domestic production of tiles amounted to 691 million square metres, an increase of 12% over the previous year, which put the India in third place among world producers, behind China and Brazil.
Again in 2012, the value of exports of Italian ceramic machinery to the "Other Asia" area, which includes India as its main market, amounted to 212.4 million euros, equivalent to 16.5% of exports.
