Bangladesh hosts Italian-made ceramic technology
The Italian Ceramic Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (Acimac) is present at Ceramic Expo Bangladesh in Dhaka from 5 to 7 December
Acimac is concluding its 2019 promotional tour at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, where the second edition of the biennial Ceramic Expo Bangladesh is currently in progress.
The exhibition is generating strong interest amongst all the leading international players in the sector, attracted by the unstoppable growth achieved by the Bangladesh market in recent years and the enormous development potential still to be explored. In 2018, tile production reached 119 million sq.m, 19% up on 2017 and 40% up on 2016, a performance that has elevated the country to the rank of fifteenth largest world producer.
At the exhibition, Acimac is showcasing the excellence of Italian ceramic technology in an approximately 200 sq.m stand in Hall 2, which hosts such leading brands as Airpower, Appel, BMR, Certech, Gabbrielli, ICF & Welko, LB, Sacmi and Smac. Other well-known Italian companies in the sector – Colorobbia, System, Tecnoferrari and Bongioanni Macchine – are taking part with their own stands.
Prior to Ceramic Expo Bangladesh, the association’s 2019 calendar included Indian Ceramics (India), Revestir (Brazil), Mosbuild (Russia), Coverings (USA), Cicee (China) and Asean Ceramics (Thailand).
